Beaches

If you love a sea swim, or just a paddle, we are perfectly situated by some of the loveliest beaches in the UK. West Wittering beach is a top attraction, with its stunning sand dunes and colourful beach huts.

Pre-booking for West Wittering beach car park is recommended. Please follow this link and book your place before you come and stay with us to make sure you don’t miss out!

If you’d rather avoid the crowds, East Wittering or East Beach in Selsey are great alternatives. The only difference being they are pebble instead of sand, but both are still popular with locals and surfers alike.

Villages

Bosham Hoe and Itchenor are both quaint waterfront villages offering good pubs and ice cream in abundance.

Visit both in one day by catching the seasonal ferry which runs between the two. Bikes and dogs are permitted and it makes for a great addition to any walk.

Chichester city centre has lots of lovely independent shops and restaurants as well as the stunning cathedral to admire, or catch a performance at the world renowned Chichester Festival Theatre.

Goodwood

Firm favourites in the local calendar, Goodwood holds some of the best festivals in Motorsport, attracting visitors far and wide. Whether you’re attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed or the Revival, Meadowgate Shepherd Huts makes the perfect base for your visit.

Walking

There are lots of lovely walking routes right on the doorstep, including some of the best areas of the South Downs National Park. Pagham Nature reserve

( Pagham Harbour Local Nature Reserve, West Sussex - The RSPB)

is a perfect spot for budding ornithologists, or head to Chichester Marina for a meander through the boats and stunning harbour views.

Chichester Marina - South Coast Marinas | Premier Marinas

Harting Down and Kingley Vale are all within half an hour’s drive and offer a slightly more challenging hike for those who are keen explorers.

One of our favourite spots, especially for families and those with dogs is the Weald and Downland Open Air museum- now famous for being the location of the BBC’s Repair Shop. It is a great day out.

Cycling

The route 55 cycle path passes right through Sidlesham. This mainly off road cycle route will take you through beautiful open fields North to Chichester city centre, or South down to Pagham Nature reserve.

Salterns Way cycle route runs from Chichester to West Wittering Beach and is a great option for avoiding the queue of traffic for the beach car park which can sometimes form on the hottest summer days.
